If you have a friend or child that’s a comic book fan, don’t bother trying to contact them for the next seven hours or so. The first official trailer for The Avengers movie has just been released. Also, if you have a friend that’s a Scarlett Johansson fan, don’t bother calling them, either.
 
In addition to Scarlett, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr?., Mark Ruffalo? and Jeremy Renner?, all star in the flick. No wonder she signed up for this. The movie centers on a group of superheroes that consist of Iron Man?, Captain America?, Hulk and Thor. I guess it’s a new moneymaker for Marvel since the X-Men franchise has kind of played out.
 
The trailer starts off with a bleak city skyline. Then there's a ton of fire mixed with more city shots and Samuel L. Jackson in an eyepatch. This thing has summer blockbuster written all over it. Unfortunately, Michael Bay? has summer blockbusters covered.

Chris Evans plays Captain America in the movie, and Hollyscoop talked to Evans about taking on the role.
 
“It’s nerve wracking,” Chris told us. “You want to make sure you do it justice. There are obviously a lot of people who care about the property. The training was difficult, they sent a trainer over from London. We did about four months of training, two hours a day.”
 
We also talked to Marvel God/original Avengers writer, Stan Lee?, about what he thinks of the cast.
 
“I think everybody that they cast so far—the guy that played Thor, Chris Evans, wonderful actor Chris. I can’t wait to see the movie, I think they’ve done a wonderful job with casting.”
 
The Avengers is set to release May 4, 2012.
